It's Leap Day Ladies! Will You Be Proposing??

It's Leap Day, meaning that there are 366 days this year instead of the normal 365. Leap Year happens every 4 years. Leap Year comes with many traditions, however; there is one that many couples who have yet to be engaged may find exciting or scary.

Leap Day is a day where women are "allowed" to propose to men and are not looked at as being strange. I find this tradition rather cool. Tradition says that the ladies may pop the question, however if her love does not say YES, he must buy her 12 pair of gloves that she can wear so she will not walk around embarrassed that she has no ring.

Pros of Leap Day:
  • Ladies you get to pick the ring so you know you will love it!!
  • You get to create the dream proposal that you always wanted!
  • You get to make your guy feel super special by proposing to him!

Cons of Leap Day:
  • He just may say no.
  • You get 12 pairs of gloves. (This could be a pro as well!)
  • You have to now wait until he proposes to you.

Things to consider before taking the Leap:
  • Does this tradition fit your relationship?
  • Will your guy be happy or sad that you decided to propose?
  • Will you truly be happy that you decided to propose?

So I find this Leap Day tradition to be rather interesting. I think that if your bold enough and you know that your man will say YES, then by all means ladies get down on one knee and pop the question!!! Otherwise, at least you will have 12 pairs of beautiful new gloves, which I guess isn't a bad trade off, right?? lol

It's Leap Day ladies, so get the asking!!
Did you "pop the question" and he said "YES"!!

::Week 3:: Love, History & Heart!

::: LOVE :::

Over the past weeks I have been learning about a different kind of love. We have all heard the saying "Love is Blind"...well I am here to tell you that true love is not! So today let's focus on what love really means!

What is Love?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love one another every day!

::: HISTORY :::

Over the past week I watched the History Channel. The History Channel aired a show about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life & his dream.

You are living Dr. King Jr's dream. Continue to fulfill his dream and begin your own!

"Dear #Brides, Your #Groom has Spoken!!"

I have written this post today to help and guide all my awesome Brides out there planning fabulous weddings! Today is all about what your groom is really trying to say to you. Don't read to fast because this is going to be a short little message!

Dear Brides,
Congratulations on getting engaged to the man you love. He is the man who completes you and makes everything right in the world. He always listened to your every word and gave advice or maybe he just nodded. Brides, ask yourself these questions: Is my groom into fashion, music, food , etc? What has he always talked about prior to engagement when we were just two love birds getting to know each other? Does he enjoy watching "My Fair Wedding" or would he rather watch football and let you and the girls enjoy all of that? When it's time to go shopping is he the kind of guy that goes with you, gives you the money and says call up your girls, does he surprise you and buy you things? Brides, I want you to think about all these questions and then think about your Groom. The man you love so much that has now asked you to be his wife. I want you to think about your wedding planning process. Are you frustrated by his lack of participation in picking out the colors, desserts, themes, etc..etc..etc? Are you nagging him (yes I said nag because ladies we NAG!) and constantly saying "you never this"..and getting mad when you ask about a color combo and all you get is "idk..pick what you like!". Now Brides..I want you to sit down and close your eyes..find a mellow happy place in your mind and think about the groom your engaged he the same groom that you fell in love with before he was your groom? Is he a give you money and have you go shopping with your girls kind of man..did he constantly surprise you during your relationship??? I say all this Brides, to say that just because your darling fiance has taken the big leap of commitment and asked the question you've been dying to hear..he is still the same man. Brides, I know you have been planning this day in your mind..but learn to listen when your groom speaks. He is not going to change his behavior just because the two of you are saying I Do...and why would you want him to because isn't the man who proposed, the man you fell in LOVE with!? So first and foremost I am so sorry that my short very long letter has gotten so long. Second..learn and listen to your Groom's behavior because he is helping you. He is giving you what you want the only way he knows how. Cut him some slack and enjoy the moment with him. I promise you the moment he does the opposite of what he has always done..the things that you fell in love will send you into a frenzy and you will wish you let him just be him! So again..listen and hear what your groom is saying. Enjoy the planning process and be happy..after all this day is about the love that the two of you have for each other!

::: HEART :::

Here is a touching poem about Heart Disease. I hope it inspires you to check yourself and motivate the women in your family to get checked as well.

A Woman’s Heart

by Nancy Perez

Her heart is like a pocket

Stitched deep within her chest

Inside she stores her treasures

Some are broken, many blessed.

In her heart she has carried

Much joy and much sorrow

With sadness and gladness

She awaits each new tomorrow

In that heart, there were burdens

That seemed would never cease

Until one day, it grew sadder

It developed Heart Disease

Now the woman who possesses it

Has one new heart’s desire

To share with you the “Heart Truth”

To enlighten and inspire

“Be your own Advocate”

You’ll hear her confession,

“Don’t let anyone tell you,

It’s just indigestion.”

“You’re young, you’re a woman,

What else could it be?”

That’s what she was told

And now - just look and see

She has a tiny treasure,

Placed there- close to her heart

It’s a stent and it has given

Her life a fresh new start.

She’s a woman; she’s a mother,

Sister, daughter and a wife

She’s also a Best Friend to

All the women in her life.

My best friend, Lois Trader has written down her story to share with you the “Heart Truth”. To God be all the Glory!

You can read this poem here: Click Here to Read!

I hope today's Love, History & Heart was inspiring in some way. Feel free to leave a comment and share with a friend! :-)

4 Ways to Keep the LOVE Alive!

Happy #WeddingWednesday to you all!! Today's post is all about keeping the love alive while planning your wedding! Planning a wedding is a tedious process that can take a toll on any engaged couple. As you plan you want to assure that you are not at each others throat about florals, cake, colors, guest list etc. Instead you want to make sure you keep the love alive by spending quality time together outside of wedding planning!

4 Way to Keep the LOVE Alive!
1. Assign 1 day every week to go out..whether you go to breakfast, lunch or dinner...enjoy a meal together! Take an hour or two and discuss life not wedding plans.

2. Dress sexy..ladies keep your hair, nails & toes done..and fellas keep your hair cut and cologne on..Remember that the person you're about to marry is a person that you are also attracted keep the spark alive!

3. Go on a fun date! Mini Golf, Couple Spa, Weekend getaway to Disney...something that will make you laugh and grow as a couple and take your mind off all the wedding day planning.

4. Say I LOVE YOU! Often times you get so caught up in life that you're not saying or showing how much you love that person. So leave a little note, send a text, make a quick call, etc. Tell your fiance you love them. I guarantee it will put a smile on their face! :-D

These 4 suggestions are things that are simple, yet make such a bug difference in a relationship. These above 4 tips although simple are things that we forget to do. In a relationship when so much is happening like planning a is the simple and sweet moments that will help to keep the love alive and the planning a lot more easy going and fun!!

Do you have any activities that you do/did to Keep the LOVE alive while planning your wedding?? Please Share in the comments section!!
