I Believe...

Hello my dear bloggers and blog readers! I know you are probably wondering where I have been, don't worry you aren't alone. I guess I just needed the right boost of my own personal inspiration to get me going again. So I want to say Thank You to "Power Chicks International" for this awesome blog post: {Why I (almost) Quit Power Chicks}. 

After reading that blog post, it empowered me to rekindle the writing flame for my own blog. Not only did it spark the blogger fire inside to make this blog come alive again, but now, I have TWO blogs!! That's right, I am blogging my little writers heart out. My main blog is this one, "UrDreamPlanner's Blog: Blog of Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC" and my other blog is dedicated to my new book, "5 Steps to Maximizing Your Client's Vision: For Weddings & Events!"; this blog is coming soon!! 

I loved the blog post by Power Chicks because it reminded me why I do what I do and this it is okay that I kind of went into hiding, but it's not okay to stay there. 

So, Hello!!!

Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC offers a UrDreamPlanner Internship Program for upcoming planners seeking real life planning experience and education, that will lead them into a successful career of possibly owning their own business one day.

Hello friends! I am Se'mona, but you can call me  "Se' ". 

I am 26 and newly married. I am a graduate of  Montclair University where I graduated with a B. A in Public Relations. I've been a spoken word artist for 11 years and plan to publish my first book very soon. I come from a family of event planners and look forward to finally stepping into the business for myself. 

I enjoy being creative and expressing my point of view artistically. My  attention to detail, creativity, and undeniable style guarantee beautiful execution of every client’s vision. I'm so ecstatic to be a part of the Beautiful Beyond Dreams family and can't wait to make your dreams come true!

UrDreamPlanner's Friday Fun: Meet "UrDreamPlanner"!

Welcome to UrDreamPlanner's Blog, the blog of Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC! If you have been a follower of this blog then you are use to seeing me sign with UrDreamPlanner and use to seeing the title say, UrDreamPlanner's Blog. Recently, I had a few ask and I am sure many many others who wonder, "Who is UrDreamPlanner?" and for those who actually asked, I replied, "Oh, she is my, "Alter Planner Ego"! :-D". That is when it struck me, although people associate UrDreamPlanner to Brittan Allen (that would be ME)...they are still slightly confused with how she fits in with Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC. And well, confusion is never a good thing. So with all that being said, it's time to meet UrDreamPlanner!!

UrDreamPlanner's Wednesday Knowledge: Inspiration Board Book!

As you may or may not know, the Owner of Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC, Brittany Allen {ME}, has written a book! The topic is, Inspiration Boards! I have created a five step method, a how-to guide for using four Inspiration Board methods. The book provides you with great insight, step by step instructions, a lot of tips, many laughs and will allow you to walk away inspired to create, create, create!!!


Since, "Five Step Method to Creating A Successful Inspiration Board! {Weddings & Events}" will soon be published and readily available to the world, I wanted to share with you a little of what to expect; starting with, who the book is for.

Who Is It For?
This Inspiration Board book was written for the Wedding Planner, Event Planner, and Designer just starting out that doesn't know how to create an Inspiration Board. This book can be applied to the veteran planner or designer that has never used an Inspiration Board before. This book can help the Planner's who create Inspiration Boards already, but would like to have a good read on a topic that is very present in today's Wedding & Event Planning Industry! 

Not only is this book for the Wedding Professionals, but Brides can benefit from reading it as well. A Bride that is more hands-on and would like to gather her thoughts and ideas to portray her vision clearly to her Wedding Planner, Designer, and/or other vendors; this book will give her the skills to do so!

{On The Blog Today} UrDreamPlanner's Monday Inspiration!

A new week has begun and it's time to be inspired!! When you think about inspiration, what comes to mind? Stop and take a second to think....hmmm....the first thing that usually comes to my mind is color! I talked about the meaning of colors in another UrDreamPlanner Monday Inspiration post which you can "read about here".


Colors is all around us! What's great about color despite what it represents it does not control how we feel and react in life. Seeing a certain color, tends to make you think a certain way which leads to how your day will go. So today and all this week I challenge you to be inspired by color differently.

I will take myself as an example. When I see red or pink, I almost automatically think about love! This week when I see those colors I am going to challenge myself to think differently. What else does that color represent to me and how can I be inspired differently throughout the week? Those will be the questions I ask myself.

As you go through the week, be inspired differently about the colors you see. Write down what first comes to mind when you are inspired by a color and then write down how you were able to see that same color in a different light! I will be mentioning this challenge all week on Beautiful Beyond Dreams, LLC FB Pg, so feel free to check in there to stay reminded to participate.

I will share with you next Monday why you are doing this challenge! And, I am doing it too!! So together, let's be inspired about how we relate to color!!

5 Stress-Free Tips for Planning a Wedding or Event!!!

 Planning a Wedding or Event is so much fun! There are so many fun details. You have food, music, attire, stationery, transportation, decor, guests and so, so, so much more. However, thinking about all the many fun details can give anyone a big stressed out headache.

When planing a beautiful beyond dreams Wedding or Event you want to be sure you follow these 5 stress-free planning tips. These tips are simple to remember and will save you a lifetime of headaches throughout the process!! 

(Don't look like this on Wedding or Event Day! lol)

5 Stress-Free Tips for Planning a Wedding or Event!

#1: Remember Why!
#2: Make it Personal!
#3: Honesty is Healthy!
#4: Don't Invite the Country!
#5: Let It Go and Enjoy!

#1 Remember Why: Remember why you chose to have the Wedding or Event in the first place. Don't get so caught up in the "fancy" of planning that you forget why you are truly celebrating. This always brings you back down and allows you to enjoy and create fun planning memories.

#2 Make It Personal: Making it personal means adding YOU into your Wedding or Event. Allow guests to see your personality shine through. This is one definite way to make your special occasion unique and original. Whether it is customized stickers, drink or a special video, etc. Insert a part of you into your Wedding or Event that your guests can connect with!! **Customization does not always mean expensive, shop around!**

#3 Honesty Is Healthy: Be honest with yourself. If you cannot afford it, if you don't like him/her, if you know in your heart it is not right....DO NOT buy it, include him/her..don't do it! This is simple..happiness comes with honesty. Be honest about your budget and feelings when planning. Don't hold back, but don't be rude and obnoxious either. Just be honest with yourself and others and I guarantee you will feel calm throughout the process.

#4 Don't Invite the Country: Only invite who you actually want to invite. The more people you invite = the more money you will spend. Weddings are more money because that's their nature. However, the same goes for a great event. It costs money and it costs to have 100, 200, 300+ guests. Invite people you love. Take into consideration others feelings when inviting people. Take everything into consideration, don't invite the country and treat others how you want to be treated!

#5 Let It Go and Enjoy: Just let it go and truly enjoy the process! Hire a Wedding Planner or Event Planner if you know you don't handle organization well and really allow yourself to enjoy. On Wedding Day..just simply let it go. The day goes by too fast to breakdown about what wasn't. Same for Event Day..allow yourself to be the guest of honor and not the host/hostess! Dance, Eat, Laugh, Cry (tears of joy), jump in all the pics you can and just have a good time!!!

{{ Wedding Dress Shopping: 4 Ways to Have Fun!!! }}

Throughout my years of planning Weddings and working with other Planners, I've had the pleasure of going dress shopping with a few Brides. I find wedding dress shopping to be one of the most exciting and fun parts of planning the Wedding. Enjoy these 4 ways to have a fun wedding dress shopping experience!!

 {{ Wedding Dress Shopping: 4 Ways to Have Fun!!! }}

#1: Only take people with you that will give you positive critiques! (When shopping we like others opinions, at the same time we only like opinions that are given in a positive matter. When wedding dress shopping this way of thinking is increased by 100!! Take people that will lift you up and NOT tear you down. Those who on a daily basis that you have a conversation with that always talks negatively or brings others down is the exact person you need to leave at home. Tip #1 is crucial because it will reflect on your outlook and effect your mood. A critique is as simple as (#1: That shape does not flatter you.) which is different from (#2: That shape makes you look fat.). Critique #1 is a honest opinion that will help you and make you think, however, critique #2 is harmful towards your feelings and will probably make you cry. Take only positive people with you that will inspire you and make you laugh, smile and ultimately have fun!!! )

#2: Have an idea (and possibly a book of pictures) of what you want AND be open minded! (There are many, many styles out there and before you make an appointment, know or have an idea of the style, shape, etc of the dress. Do you love sparkle {maybe a Ballgown?}, are you modest {pick an A-line style), if you love fitted dresses {a Mermaid silhouette may fit you best!}. Knowing the different kinds of dresses or at least being able to show pictures of what you may desire..will allow your consultant at the dress shop to be able to narrow down what you want a lot easier and make the process a lot more enjoyable and memorable!!)

#3: Be prepared to NOT find the perfect dress at your 1st or 2nd wedding dress shopping appointment AND be prepared if YOU DO fall in love with the first dress you try on! (This is all about your thought process and knowing that wedding dress shopping is about knowing who you are and listening to your heart. Be open minded and enjoy the process. Listen to the advice of others that you brought with you and listen to your heart. Any woman that has went shopping, knows how it feels when you try on those jeans and they fit in all the right places...take "that feeling" with you! Don't force this feeling, but just enjoy, have fun and allow the experience to move you!)

#4: Grab a bite to eat and discuss! (Food makes any experience exciting! Enjoying great food and being able to sit down and discuss the wedding dress shopping is a nice way to ease whatever emotions you may be experiencing before going home. If you found "the one" and took pictures, enjoy looking at them again and discuss accessories and just enjoy the moment!! If you did not find "the one", take this time to gather your emotions, discuss the different styles you tried on and together as a group share. Talk about life, friendship and any other topic that makes you happy and laugh!! :-D)

UrDreamPlanner's Monday Inspiration!

Welcome to Monday...the beginning of the work week for many. Monday is a day where the weekend has either been so wonderful or so drag that you just don't want to leave the house to get your Monday started. For this we all need some Monday Inspiration, something that can carry us throughout the day, the week and even the start of a new month!! 


Today I want to inspire you to seek out your purpose in life. Each person was born with a destiny, created to do something special. God gave you passion, a gift that you do with ease. A passion that you truly enjoy doing. Have you found your passion? Have you discovered your purpose in life? Have you asked God, "What should I be doing in life..what is my purpose?" And did you sit and listen for an answer? Find a quiet place and really seek and find what you should be doing in life.

Write down your thoughts in a journal if it helps and start living the life that was meant for you to live. Follow the dream God placed on your heart and make a difference in the world!!

A 2012 Party "Must-Have": The Dessert Buffet!!!

Who doesn't love a great party?? Parties are so much fun!! You have great music, yummy food, unusual dancing, family & friends and most importantly an eye-googly, mouth watering dessert buffet!!! Displaying your dessert spread out along the table on the original platters they came in are long gone.



The creativity of what you can do with a dessert buffet is totally endless!! Desserts are fun enough all by themselves, but when you create a scene that they get to live in and truly get to be featured in; it makes eating them much more exciting. 

How to Create A Dessert Buffet:
  • 1 long table (For the desserts of course! ;-D)
  • Cool or fancy colorful or themed-related table cloth. (This can be rented or you can visit the craft store and find something amazing or just look around your own house!!)
  • Backdrop (Can use fabric, tissue paper balls, wrapping paper, etc..get creative!)
  • An amazing centerpiece!! (A wow factor that will suck in your guests. Usually placed in the center of the table...can be food related.) 
  • Props!! (Bring in props that match the theme and can be space-fillers for areas that need an accent.)
  • Various sized jars, plates, bowls. (Basically anything your desserts can sit on or in..again get creative!)
  • Labels! (This is important because guest like to know what their about to eat.)
  • The Desserts!!! (Pre-cut, easy to pick up kind of desserts! Or "dressed up" utensils to pick up items.)
  

Dessert Buffet Tips To Remember:  

Place your desserts on your fabulously decorated dessert table and create levels with the various jars. Height allows the eye to move throughout the table and makes those about to dig in, very excited!! 

Don't over stack your dessert plate because you don't want the items to fall over. You want to create clean lines and allow your buffet to appear neat since you already have a big scene going on.

Lastly, keep an eye on the dessert buffet so you can restock throughout the party!

Oh and lastly-lastly, make sure you enjoy the dessert buffet too!!

Wedding Diets "Do Not" Include Feeding Tubes!!!

Hello! If you noticed there was no Wednesday blog post and well that's because we moved it to Thursday! Hope you don't mind and you do continue to keep reading!! 

Now onto a very, very, very important & serious issue!!! 


"Brides using a feeding tube to lose 20 pounds in 10 days???"
This is NOT okay, at all, never! 


Dear Brides,

Please know that you ARE beautiful. Your fiance is marrying you because he also knows that you ARE beautiful inside and out. Dieting is a tricky road to enter and most times require a plan that is kept up for a long duration (way longer than 10 days). Know that your Wedding Day, which is uber important, special and one of a kind; is one day! Your marriage however; which is the reason for Wedding Day, is meant to last for years and years and years!!! Do not endanger your body to loose weight, get fit or be in the best shape. 

Brides, know that there is a healthier way to look and feel your best on Wedding Day. Create a 3 month plan that involves: eating the 5 food groups and in proportioned sized and an exercise plan that you can do at least 3 days out of the week. Everyone's body is different and needs to have a plan that fits their body type and lifestyle. Do this plan with your Groom and/or Bridal party. Get others involved and make it fun!!

I do hope that you know you ARE beautiful and this "feeding tube diet" is NOT the way to go!

Dear Groom & Supporting Family Members,

Pay attention to your beautiful Bride. Assure her and reassure her that she is beautiful inside and out. If she desires to get more fit for Wedding Day, guide her to a healthy path this will not endanger her life! There are times to mind our business and there are times to be nosey when it comes to family. This is a time to be nosey, ask questions and step in!!! 

Dieting, again is a tricky road to go down. A support team is suggested to keep the Bride motivated and focused. Over dieting, exercising, etc is not healthy. Help your Bride stick to her plan. Offer to run or walk with her...Cook healthy meals together, etc. Most importantly: GET INVOLVED!! This "feeding tube diet" is bound to take a life, let it not be your Bride's life! 

Wedding Planning is stressful and as woman we tend to be way to hard on ourselves when it comes to our image. Let her know she is beautiful. Be nosey..she will thank you for it later! :-)

UrDreamPlanner's Monday Inspiration!

Hello Monday!!!

It is Monday my dear blogger readers. I am happy to see another day and looking forward to what this week brings. Today I want to inspire you to "be supportive" of your peers. Jealousy is an evil trait to take on and it's just not healthy! 

I want you you to be supportive by liking a friends status, leaving a comment, retweeting a tweet, sharing a great story, making a purchase from a small business, etc. As a community of bloggers and blog readers you can be supportive by commenting and sharing your fellow bloggers blog's.
Set a goal to comment on a certain amount of blog post a week. Every week change it up and find some new blogs to comment on. Keep the rotation going and check back in on your fellow peers. It can be 3 blogs or 10...set a realistic goal that you can stick too! Being supportive makes that person feel good and makes you feel good too!! 

Don't steal, SHARE!!! 
Give credit where credit is due...if you don't it will bite you hard in the behind and bite's hurt!

3 Steps to Wedding Planning Fun!!!

Wedding Planning should be FUN! Plain and simple. Yes, planning such an important and special occasion comes with the normal headaches and stress risers however and overall, planning your wedding should have fun involved!

So let's talk about how to have FUN while planning your wedding!



Fun Means: Action or speech that provides amusement or arouses laughter. Fun usually implies laughter or gaiety but may imply merely a lack of serious or ulterior purpose. (Found via: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fun).

3 Steps to Wedding Planning Fun:

Step 1: Be honest about your wedding budget and accept it! (Honesty and accepting the budget you can spend is step one because from this point on you know what you can and cannot afford. Being in denial and planning the wedding of your dreams do not go hand in hand. Once you accept your budget you will give yourself a peace of mind and really get to enjoy the fun of planning the wedding of your dreams. Do not by all means compare your wedding to another couples. You two are you, you make a great couple because of who the two of you are. Television is great..I love watching the wedding shows, but your wedding is special and unique because you found your soul mate and get to enjoy happily ever after. When making purchases stick to your budget and I guarantee it will make the process a lot more fun! If you need help figuring out your budget..Hire a Planner (even if just for a 3 or 4 hour consultation to get you on the right track!))

Step 2: Select people to be in your Bridal Party that you actually "LIKE"! ("Like" is the key word here. You can love someone because they are family, but if you don't like them..they will drive you insane!!!! Select people that you can stand to be around..that make you smile..that make you laugh. Select people that know your personality, know how to calm you down, know how to not make you upset. Whether you have a year of planning, 6 months of planning, more or less...you will spend time with the people in your Bridal Party..even if just on wedding day (which is 10+ hours). So if you want to have fun..choose wisely!) 

Step 3: Laugh and make it an adventure! (Laughing is crucial when planning a wedding. Wedding Planning IS stressful, I don't care what anyone tells you. However, Wedding Planning does not have to be a stress factor in your life. You are getting married and this is something to celebrate not cry about. Smile and laugh and joke and have fun. When things go wrong..breathe and just laugh. I am so serious..it will make you feel crazy but it will make you feel better and this will make Wedding Day much easier because you have learned to handle the stress of wedding planning by not allowing it to over take you. Then, on Wedding Day if something goes wrong..you will look at it differently and your reaction will be much better! Don't believe me, email me and I will let you speak to one of my brides! Don't sweat the small stuff..remember why you are getting married and enjoy the process!!)


Follow these 3 steps and you will have a lot more fun planning your dream wedding! If planning your wedding has not been fun, then sit down and rethink what is happening. If you're not having fun, then you need to do something different because it should be fun!
